MAXFERM – Efficient Nutrition for Salmon
Aquaculture relies on plant-based feeds like soybean meal; but these can challenge fish gut health. MAXFERM, a dried fungal fermentation product, enhances nutrient digestibility and strengthens gut integrity.
Growth Performance
In a 56-day trial, Atlantic salmon fed diets with 500 ppm MAXFERM showed higher growth rates and better feed conversion compared to the control. The enzymatic activity of MAXFERM helps release nutrients bound in plant fibers, improving feed efficiency.
Reducing Inflammation
Salmon challenged with 20% soybean meal had lower inflammatory markers (TGF-β, IL 1-β) when fed 1,000 ppm MAXFERM. This indicates that MAXFERM reduces dietary stress and supports gut resilience.
MAXFERM allows higher inclusion of plant proteins without compromising performance, lowering feed costs, and promoting healthier, more resilient salmon.
